THE DEAL

Terms

Updated 13 August 2026

Using PennyPincher means agreeing to what's on this page. It is short because the deal is simple: we watch prices, we tell you when they move, and neither of us pretends that makes us your shopkeeper.

It's a beta

PennyPincher is beta software, handed out through TestFlight. It will have bugs. Features will move, and occasionally one will disappear because it wasn't good enough. It is free while in beta; if parts of it become paid later, the people who tested the beta hear it from us first.

Prices are observations, not quotes

Every price in PennyPincher is what we read on a page at a moment in time. Pages change, shops make mistakes, and shipping, tax and regional pricing all happen after we look. The price at the store's checkout is the only real one. We report prices; we can't honour them.

In the same spirit: we check often, but we can't promise to catch every drop or land every notification. Sites go down, pages get rebuilt, phones go offline. A missed alert is a bug we want to hear about, not a debt.

No warranty

PennyPincher is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for money you spent, money you didn't save, or a deal that closed while a notification was in flight. If a purchase matters enough that a missed alert would hurt, don't lean on a beta for it.

Fair use

Watch as many products as you actually want to buy. Don't script the app, don't use it as a scraping backend for something else, don't hammer our servers, and don't go looking for other people's accounts or ours. Ordinary personal use is generous by design; automated abuse is what ends an account.

Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password to yourself. We can close an account that is abusing the service or breaking the law, and if we do, we'll tell you why. You can close yours whenever you like — see Privacy for what deletion removes.

Whose stuff is whose

The products you add and the targets you set are yours. The app, the name and the marks are ours. Product names, images and prices belong to the retailers they came from — PennyPincher reads public product pages and claims no partnership with, or endorsement from, any store it watches.

Changes

These terms will change as PennyPincher grows up. When they do, the date at the top changes and the app says so. Carrying on using it after that means the new version suits you.

If something goes wrong

Email contact@pennypincher.com before anything else. Almost everything that looks like a dispute is a bug, and a bug is faster to fix than an argument. Where the law needs an address, these terms are governed by the law of the place PennyPincher is operated from, and nothing here removes rights your local consumer law gives you.
